ABOUT ME

I am a registered clinical psychologist with particular experience in neuropsychological assessment, rehabilitation, and psychological treatment. My work often involves helping people understand changes in their thinking, emotional wellbeing, confidence, or everyday functioning following injury, illness, or significant life events.

I know that an assessment can feel unfamiliar or unsettling. I therefore aim to explain the process clearly, listen carefully, and provide a respectful and reassuring setting.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

I trained in psychology at the Universities of Vienna and Berlin and completed my PhD at the University of Auckland. My academic work has included neurocognitive assessment, fatigue, attention, and the psychological consequences of injury and illness.

My professional experience spans clinical psychology, neuropsychology, rehabilitation, research, and independent assessment. I undertake assessments for ACC, insurers, health professionals, employers, and private clients. Depending on the referral, an assessment may consider cognitive functioning, emotional wellbeing, rehabilitation needs, work-related capacity, or treatment planning.

When acting as an assessor, I work independently. My responsibility is not to take sides, but to listen carefully, consider the available information, and provide a balanced professional opinion. I also provide practical, strategy-based psychological treatment and rehabilitation, helping people manage distress, rebuild confidence, establish useful routines, and return to meaningful activities and roles. I remain actively involved in research and professional education.
