Assessment
How an Assessment Can help
An assessment is intended to answer a specific question. It may help clarify how you are thinking and functioning, how you are coping emotionally, what support or rehabilitation may be useful, or what may assist a safe return to work and everyday roles.

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
Looks at cognitive functions such as attention, memory, processing speed, language, problem-solving, and executive functioning.
PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
Considers emotional wellbeing, symptoms, coping, adjustment, and the psychological effects of injury, illness, or significant changes in life.
FUNCTIONAL AND REHABILITATION ASSESSMENT
Addresses questions about rehabilitation needs, work-related capacity, readiness for particular roles, and supports that may assist recovery.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING AN ASSESSMENT
Most assessments begin with a conversation about your background, current circumstances, and the questions you or your referrer would like answered. Depending on the referral, the appointment may also include questionnaires or structured cognitive tasks.
I will explain the process before we begin, and you can ask questions or request a break at any time. You do not need to study or practise beforehand.
